Summer is almost upon us and I cannot wait! Look, when I tell you that I am ready for this summer to arrive... I AM READY! I'm finally finished with school (at least until I start Grad school), I have a fierce line-up of national and international trips planned, I get to eat watermelon as much as I want, and I get to go to the beach! Yes, I am ready to get away and have some good ole' traveling fun! I think we all have that moment where we need a change of scenery, so we look elsewhere for that fun and excitement that we believe we won't experience in our own cities. But, sometimes there are a plethora of things to do, places to eat, and events to attend right in our own backyards! I have lived in Birmingham for almost five years and I've never taken the time to actually explore the "Magic City"--until recently. Because of this, I decided to take a 'stay' cation before embarking on my summer vacations and visit some of the attractions and restaurants that Birmingham has to offer. I also visited places that wouldn't hurt my little ole's pockets (y'all know I'm *ahem* frugal).
I must admit-- I was pleasantly surprised!
The first attraction that I visited was the Birmingham Museum of Art. The art collections were beautiful and interesting to learn about. What's even better is that the museum is FREE to attend!
